| Glamour Gowns
When: Saturday, April 5th and Sunday, April
6th 2008
Where: Los Angeles Convention Center
Why: Our Glamour Gowns soiree has successfully
turned dreams into reality for hundreds of young ladies in
foster care each year. For the past six years, CASA with the
help of countless volunteers, helps to strengthen the self
image of young ladies by giving them special princess powers
for the day. Our young ladies are assigned a personal shopper
dedicated to helping them find that perfect gown with fabulous
matching accessories!
Give
the Light of Hope to a Child Holiday Celebration (Dec 1, 2007)

With the busy holiday season upon us and a ton of invitations
for parties to sift through, CASA is grateful to all those
who joined us for our annual Give The Light of Hope To A Child
Event! Supporters from all over joined us on Dec 1st for the
festivities at Hollywood & Highland to raise money and
awareness in honor of abused and neglected foster children
in Los Angeles.

Special thanks to Kimberly Caldwell of American Idol who
hosted the entire show and the spectacular performances of
country music stars Kellie Coffey, Star De Azlan, the LA Music
Academy Performers and the Westside Ballet. The Executive
Producer of the hit show "CSI- Las Vegas" was also
on hand to endorse our cause.

Guests enjoyed an outdoor screening of Its A Wonderful Life
and cookie decorating underwritten by Starbucks. Many generous
guests contributed by sponsoring at least one of the 30,000
lights on the 35-foot Christmas Tree in the central courtyard,
representing rays of hope for abused or neglected children.

Craft
Box-ing (Dec 2, 2007)

Once again, CASAs prove their readiness and never-ending
diligence when needed. So much “artistic electricity”
can be discharged by CASAs! Creative CASAs teamed-up on Sunday,
December 2nd to assemble “Cheer Kits” and “Memory
Boxes” for CASA children as holiday gifts.

Those gifts were displayed during the CASA Holiday Party
on December 19th. CASAs Brianna Kennedy, Ginny Springer, Karri
Luong, Haelyn Lee, TL Thousand, along with Sue Thompson, Marisa
Schor and a couple of friends, wore their “creative
hats” at the home of Sarita and Paul Carden, who graciously
opened their home to host this magnificent event.

Together, we created 48 gorgeous completely unique boxes,
decorated for different age ranges, that CASAs could select
and surprised their CASA child.

Thank you CASA Karri Luong for your amazing gift-idea and
CASA Haelyn Lee for encouraging Karri with this initiative!
Thanks Sarita for feeding us!

Lancaster CASA Holiday Party
The
CASA Holiday Party coordinated by our Lancaster Office is
an annual event honoring all of the CASA volunteers that work
out of that office. The party provides a fun outlet for the
foster children these CASAs serve, including crafts, food,
and photographs with Santa. Gifts for the children are generously
provided each year by High Desert Medical Group.
